Application Form

Fill in this form to apply for the service. Once you've filled in the form, you are free to send us samples at any time. Contact us at affy@arabidopsis.info.

This form is suitable to collect sample tracking information for most plant experiments - human and other animal users should use the same form please.

Please tick here if this is a donation of data to NASCArrays.

Experimental Information

This section is for MIAME/MAGE-ML/databases and to remind you of the importance that we place in your experimental design.

Experiment title:
Abstract:

This is your opportunity to include information in the database that describes your experiment to its best advantage so that other users may reference you: You might like to include, for example, your
  • aims,
  • background information on the mutant,
  • tissues,
  • treatment or transgenic line you use for RNA preparation,
  • perhaps some paper references.
Describe the experimental set up you are using.

Max. 400 words.

We recommend that the controls are grown under identical conditions to the experimental materials wherever possible.

*Experimental Factors
Select one or more experimental factors from the following list, that best describes the parameters that vary in your experiment:
If other, please specify:

Confidentiality period (does not currently apply for non-arabidopsis experiments)

All arabidopsis experiments run by NASC are, eventually, released to the public through our website, and disseminated through other channels. You can ask for your experiment to be kept private for a period after we finish it though.

Confidentiality period required:

Affymetrix chips

Affymetrix chips are hybridised with one RNA sample per chip.

Array type used: If other, please specify:

For each RNA sample/chip please give the tube a unique name below. Further boxes will appear as you type!

Disclaimer

We are not-for-profit and it is important that we make it clear that the service is treated as an academic collaboration without issues of warranty. We are a very professional unit and have a lot of experience now (especially in QC), however the service is NOT a commercial one and once we give you the data our formal responsibility is over (although we are normally happy to help informally with advice on analysis where it is useful to you). As the user of our service you are not paying for the data or service itself, you are providing cost-recovery on part of the full cost to us of the procedure. This helps the concept that the arabidopsis data ultimately belongs to the community since the community (and funding body) provide the underpinning finance and subsidy to NASC with this explicit understanding.
