NASC's Affymetrix Service

Introduction

All customers who perform experiments with the NASC Affymetrix Service get their data put in NASCArrays automatically. We welcome Arabidopsis Affymetrix data from other sources too- where the Affymetrix chips have been run at another location.

How to donate data to NASCArrays

What you will need
  • Original Affymetrix .CEL files from your service provider.
  • Your name and address
  • Information about the experiment as a whole, including an experiment title, and an abstract
  • Preparation information about every sample you have run
Procedure

Currently the best way of donating data to NASCArrays is to follow the same procedure as if you were a customer. Rather than sending us RNA samples, send us .CEL files instead.

  1. First, send us an email (affy@arabidopsis.info) saying that you would like to donate data. We will send you a confirmation email.
  2. Next fill in the data donation form. Some questions may no longer be relevant for donating data (like the confidentiality period)- just ignore these
  3. For each sample, fill in the sample submission form.
  4. Send us the .CEL files using a method of your choice. For instance you could:

    • send us them in a ZIP file attached to an email
    • send us a CD or DVD in the post (our address)
    • put them on a web server or FTP site- email us the address
    • We also may be able to arrange an FTP upload to us- contact us to arrange this.
Arrays produced at NASC
All arabidopsis work performed at NASC is donated into the public domain. The graph below shows the proportion of our service hybridisations that is dedicated to arabidopsis. Other species are processed to ensure the continuity of the array service.
